Varicella Exposure and Chemotherapy
- VZIG must be given within 96 hrs of exposure.
- Varicella is contagious from 1-2 days prior to 5 days after eruption of
vesicles.
- Infectious exposure to zoster requires physical contact.
- Acyclovir should be given as treatment for varicella, but not as
prophylaxis.
