• gv =  growth velocity

• CA < BA = HA (advanced bone age)

  • & normal gv --> c/w obesity

  • & abnormal gv --> c/w precocious puberty, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, hyperthyroidism

• CA = BA < HA (normal bone age)

  • & normal gv -- c/w familial tall stature

  • & abnormal gv -- c/w genetic, chromosomal, or syndrome related

• Remember, Cushing syndrome causes obesity and short stature (since high glucocorticoids are a toxin).
