Scleritis/Episcleritis
- Severe pain on eye
movement and localized tenderness
- Localized injection (lateral eye)
- Deep inflammation of the sclera
at the insertion of the lateral rectus muscles
- Adolescents and young adults
- May be associated with autoimmune disease
- SCLERITIS=Diffuse inflammation of the sclera, can lead to corneal thinning
and globe perforation
- Treatment: REFER!
