Immunology Red Flags
- Panopacification of the
sinuses may be associated with an
immunologic disorder (eg,
hypogammaglobulinemia)
or cystic fibrosis. Thus, such
findings on radiography warrant an evaluation of the child for these
underlying diseases. See Sinusitis, Chronic.
- Patients without
tonsillar
tissue and other lymph nodes w/ poor growth, have clubbing of the
fingers, and other signs infection may have an immunodeficieny
- tonsillar
hypertrophy may be part of generalized lymphadenopathy that occurs with
HIV
- IgG2 deficiency: Hib infection after vaccination
