Proteus Syndrome

• asymmetric overgrowth; hemihypertrophy; hamartomous tumors
• generalized thickening of skin and subcutaneous tissue
• skin lesions: linear verrucous epidermal nevi, shagreen patches, hemangiomas, lipomas, varicosities
• characteristic warty, hyperplastic plantar overgrowth termed 'moccasin lesion'
• craniofacial: macrodactyly, macrocephaly
• MR may be present, but is rare
• Most cases are sporadic
