Polyarteritis Nodosa

  1. Vasculitis of the medium sized vessels, usually at the site of bifurcations
  2. Characterized by aneurysm formation
  3. Multiorgan involvement: CNS, Cardiac, GI, Renal, and Skin are most common
  4. Can present with a wide variety of symptoms: FUO, renovascular disease with hypertension or hematuria, abdominal pain, arthritis, encephalopathy or peripheral neuropathy
  5. Diagnosis based on angiogram showing aneurysms, or biopsy
