Infrapatellar tendon apophysitis
- due to frequent knee extension leading to traction apophyseal* injury with
local tenderness:
- proximally at the
secondary growth centers of the distal patellar pole (Sinding-Larsen-Johansson
disease)
- more distally at
the tibial tubercle (Osgood-Schlatter)
- *Apophysis: A marked prominence or process on any part of a bone.
