Hyperhomocysteinemia
- Enzyme defects lead to increase in Homocysteine levels
- Can also be caused by deficiencies in B12, B6, Folate, poor nutrition,
renal or liver failure
- Higher risk for ARTERIAL atherosclerotic and venous thromboembolic events
- Diagnosed by measuring homocysteine levels
