Calcaneal Valgus Foot
- Often noted in the newborn nursery; represents an intra-uterine positional
deformity
- Exam: top of forefoot is usually noted to be lying against the antero-lateral
tibia; ankle joint is dorsiflexed and subtalar joint is everted
- Treatment: stretching exercises (plantar flexion 15-20 times TID). Short
leg cast in plantar flexion for 3 weeks if stretching exercises doesn’t help
