with one hand held. Persistent toe walking may indicate spasticity.
Fine Motor: fine pincer grasp, helps turn pages of book.
Hand dominance prior to 18 mo may indicate weakness in contralateral hand.
Language: 2-4 words, follows 1 step command
with gesture.

Reflexes: Plantar grasp extinguishes 9-12 mos
Nutrition: No honey or corn syrup, until
after age 1 year. Change from formula to
whole milk.
Supplement with Vit D if <500 cc/day of formula or strictly breast fed -
Vitamin D Supplementation.
Juice and Water: 1-6 years old can get 4-6 oz per day.
Dental: 7 mos: bottom central incisors,
8 mos: top central incisors and bottom lateral incisors,
9 mos: top lateral incisors,
13 mos: all 1st primary molars
Growth: Head circumference 7-12 mos: 0.5 cm/month, 1-3 yrs
0.25 cm/month. Average HC at 1 y/o: males 47 cm, females 46 cm. In first year,
should grow 25 cm/year (10 inches). Average height:
75 cm (30 inches, 1.5 feet). Birth weight doubles within 5 months and
triples within a year. Anterior fontanelle closes 13 mos (7-19 mos).
Teeth: should have
all incisors, and by 13 mos all 1st molars also.
PE: Stills murmur 3-6 y/o, but
occasionally in infancy. Should have testicles
down by now. Refer if still cryporchidism. Also need to
refer if has had persistent hydrocele.
Elim:
Sleep: Back to sleep, through first year of life, especially in first 6 mos.
May have been sleeping fine for weeks or months, then
return abruptly to a late night wakeup schedule, usually related to growth
spurts increasing the need for food (Feeding spurts),
or teething or developmental changes.
